It's been a long time since I listened to much David Bowie but I downloaded his last album—Blackstar, this week, which I'm really enjoying, but that got me thinking about his earlier work, in particular Hunky Dory. This was an album I loved in my twenties, but I've grown to realise that my twenty something self didn't know much about anything so I was interested to go back to this album and see if it was as good as I remember. It's better than I remember.
The kaleidoscopic pop of this album make it worth listening to in full, but it's Mick Ronson's flamenco guitar riff on 'Andy Warhol' (along with Bowie's laugh) that I can't get enough of. So this is my track of the week. Enjoy!
